To add: there is so much more going on here than what it first seems. The spliced-in deer hunting scenes but no deer, the empty chair (buddies not returning?), the compassion shown by one American for an enemy POW, the lack of compassion shown by an American towards the enemy POW, on and on. We see and understand about 1% of the whole story here. But, it's not for us to know. That is for Cantrell and his Father...
Outstanding video and awesome song. The emotion and thoughts this combination bring up is only a scratch on the surface of what must be felt by Cantrell's father in living it and Cantrell himself trying to understand it then explain it to us. Each with differing experience/point-of-view/thoughts, Cantrell has done a great job trying to deliver his dad's thoughts and emotions concerning his experience in Vietnam and maybe more importanty, his return to the States. As good as it is, we outsiders can only see a glimpse of the magnitude of emotions and the things running through both their minds concerning this experience.
